FOX50.com Fantasy Racin’ Contest 2008
RULES & REGULATIONS
HOW TO ENTER & WIN: No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local regulations apply. Participants register online at www.myFOX50.com. For each Sprint Cup Series race, participants pick the ten (10) drivers they think will finish 1st through 10th. Drivers will be awarded fantasy points depending on the order in which they finish. 1st place is worth 150, 2nd place is worth 125, 3rd place is worth 100, 4th place is worth 80, 5th place is worth 78, and each additional respective place beyond 5th place is worth 2 fewer points than the immediately preceding place. 44th place and beyond are worth 0 points. The total fantasy points for all the player's drivers in the race becomes that player’s Team Score. There is an additional 25-point bonus for every driver that comes in the exact order the player picks them to finish in that race. Entries generated by a script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified. Entries that are incomplete, illegible or corrupted are void and ineligible and will not be accepted.
Each participants Total Score is the sum of the participant’s best 15 Sprint Cup Series races. In order to have 15 races, participants must register by the start of the race scheduled for 8/10/2008. If a participant fails to enter their picks in whole or in part in one or more weeks, the contest software will automatically complete the participant’s entry for the week by selecting drivers and finish order for them.
If there is a tie for the most points for a race, the winner will be the participant who picked the most drivers in the right order. If there is still a tie, the computer will break the tie by selecting the participant who correctly picked the highest place driver. If there is still a tie, the computer will break the tie by randomly selecting a winner from the participants that are tied.
If there are ties for Total Score at the end of the season, the computer will select the participant with the most race points for the most recent race. If there is still a tie, the computer will continue comparing race points for previous races until a winner is selected. If the participants are tied for all the races, the computer will randomly select a winner from the participants that are tied.
Points are awarded to drivers, not cars. If a participant picks a driver who qualified for race and a new driver took his/her place before the start of the race, the participant must pick the new driver in order for that driver to be part of that team. If a participant does not pick the new driver, the participant will not receive points even though the new driver may be racing the previous driver's car. And, if the new driver is not in the list of drivers that can be picked then no players shall have the ability to pick that driver and it will not count for or against anyone.
Weekly winners are based on each participant’s team score derived from the race finish order immediately following the race. If the race finish order is adjusted after the race, new weekly winners will not be selected, but all participants’ points will be recomputed for purposes of obtaining each participant’s Total Score.
All results posted are unofficial until winners are verified by FOX 50 (WRAZ TV) and respond to e-mail notification. Weekly winners, one (1) per week, are based on the race finish order immediately following the Sprint Cup Series race. If the race finish order is adjusted after the race, the weekly winners will remain the same but all players' points will be recomputed for the season total. One (1) grand prizewinner will be chosen after the last Sprint Cup Series race. The grand prizewinner’s score will be the Total Score, which is the sum of the participant’s best 15 races. Participants are competing against other local participants for the local weekly prizes and against other nationwide participants (including local participants) for the national weekly and grand prizes.
One (1) national grand prizewinner receives Richard Petty Driving Experience for two (2) and a $1,500 check. National weekly prizewinners each receive a fathead and a watch. Local weekly prizewinners each receive a coupon for one (1) large one topping carry-out only pizza from Papa Johns. Contest period: 2/17/08 – 11/16/08.
PRIZE VALUE & ODDS: One (1) national grand prizewinner receives Richard Petty Driving Experience for two (2) and a $1,500 check. The total ARV of the national grand prize is $3,749. National weekly prizewinners each receive a fathead and a watch. ARV of each national weekly prize is $40 to $99 depending on the week. Local weekly prizewinners will each receive a coupon for one (1) large one topping carry-out only pizza from Papa Johns. ARV of each weekly prize is $14. FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com, its sponsors, advertising and promotion agencies, assume no liability or responsibility in connection with the use of any prize awarded hereunder nor in connection with any warranty or representation therewith. Odds of winning any prize depend on the number of participants competing for the prize and their relative abilities to correctly predict the outcomes of the races.
PRIZE REDEMPTION/CLAIM/RELEASES: Winners will be notified by email. If a winner does not respond to the initial transmission of notification within ten (10) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, or if an eligible winner cannot be found for that prize, that prize will not be awarded and an alternate winner will not be selected. No substitution of the prize or transfer of the prize to a third party is permitted and prize cannot be redeemed for cash value. All costs, fees, and expenses, not specifically included in the grand prize descriptions are solely the responsibility of the respective prizewinner. Grand prize winner must complete and execute a signed affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release. Prizes may be considered income and taxes on said prizes are solely the responsibility of the winner. Compliance with all regulations is solely the responsibility of the winner. The winner, by acceptance of a prize, agrees to release FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com, its sponsors, advertising and promotion agencies from any and all liability for claims, actions or proceedings for injuries or damages sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while traveling to, preparing for or participating in any contest-related or prize-related activity. By playing the contest, or by winning, participants have awarded FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com, the right to publicize their name, photograph or likeness, voice and details and have accepted and agreed to comply with and be bound by these rules. Grand prize and all other prizes will be forfeited if not claimed by 12/31/08. FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com, reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.
ELIGIBILITY: Anyone over the age of 13 can play, but to be eligible to win the national grand prize and/or national weekly prize, you must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and a legal, permanent resident of the U.S. To be eligible to win a local weekly prize, you must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and a legal, permanent resident the U.S. and of one of these North Carolina counties: Chatham, Cumberland, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Nash, Orange, Person, Sampson, Vance, Wake, Warren, Wayne, Wilson or Mecklenburg, Virginia. Limit one local weekly winner per household. Limit one local weekly winner per family. Employees of FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com, their parent companies, agencies, subsidiaries, representatives, sponsors, affiliates, distributors, suppliers, and advertising, promotional agencies and their immediate families are not eligible to participate. FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com, reserves the right to disqualify in their sole discretion any entrant or entry if the contest rules are not followed. No substitution of prizes or transfer by of prizes to a third party is permitted. No groups, clubs, or organizations may participate in this contest, or reproduce or distribute any portion of these rules to its members.
LIABILITY: FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com, are not responsible for problems associated with television transmission, radio transmission, cable transmission, satellite transmission, phone lines, Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, or other Internet interruptions or malfunctions or for any technical difficulties which may prohibit, prevent, or interfere with the transmission of television or radio signals to all or limited geographic areas during the playing of the Contest, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God that are beyond the control of FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com. FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com are not responsible for cancellations, postponements, delays, Acts of God, war, terrorism, government regulation, disaster, fire, strikes, civil disorder, or other similar causes beyond the control of the aforementioned entities that make it inadvisable, illegal, impossible, or impractical to continue the contest or to perform under these rules. FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com, are not responsible for cancellations, postponements, or delays. If a race is canceled, forfeited, or indefinitely suspended for any reason, or, if a race results in a tie, that race shall not count for any participant and scores will be computed as if the race did not exist. FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com, DISCLAIM ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, WARRANTY OF FITNESS, AND ANY OTHER IMPLIED WARRANTY.
All decisions are made by the management of FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com and are final. FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc./Upickem.com, reserve the right to revise the rules as necessary for the fair administration of the contest and compliance with applicable law.
This contest is not intended for gambling or betting of any kind. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling or betting purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
